Last updated: February 13, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Redactosaurus website, software, browser extension, desktop tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility and Authority

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Services.

If you use the Services on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

3. Service Description

Redactosaurus is a local-first privacy tool designed to detect and mask sensitive information before user content is shared with third-party systems.

Service features may differ between Free and Pro offerings and may change over time.

We may add, remove, or modify features at our discretion.

4. License and Permitted Use

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Redactosaurus grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for lawful internal purposes.

You may not resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services except as expressly permitted in writing.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code from proprietary portions of the Services, except where applicable law allows it.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your configuration choices, prompts, and outputs.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your devices and accounts used with the Services.

You agree not to use the Services for unlawful activity, harassment, fraud, abuse, or violations of third-party rights.

6. Pro Features, Orders, and Billing

Certain features may require a paid license or subscription.

When you purchase a paid plan, you agree to provide accurate billing and contact information.

Payments may be processed by authorized third-party payment providers under their own terms.

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable once access is granted.

Additional refund details are provided in the Redactosaurus Refund Policy.

7. Third-Party Services

The Services may interact with third-party websites, AI platforms, browser stores, hosting providers, payment processors, or identity/communication providers.

Your use of third-party services is governed by those providers' own terms and privacy policies.

Redactosaurus is not responsible for third-party services or content.

8. Intellectual Property

The Services, including design, branding, software, and documentation, are owned by Redactosaurus and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

Redactosaurus names, logos, and marks may not be used without prior written permission.

9. Open Source Components

Some components of the Services may be provided under open source licenses.

Where open source licenses apply, your rights and obligations regarding those components are governed by the applicable licenses.

If these Terms conflict with an applicable open source license for a component, the open source license governs that component.

10. Privacy and Data Handling

Your use of the Services is also subject to the Redactosaurus Privacy Policy.

You acknowledge that local-first processing can reduce exposure of sensitive content, but no software can guarantee absolute prevention of all data disclosure risks.

You remain responsible for reviewing prompts and outputs before sharing them with third parties.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REDACTOSAURUS DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, or error-free performance.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, REDACTOSAURUS AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF REDACTOSAURUS FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO REDACTOSAURUS FOR THE APPLICABLE PAID SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Redactosaurus from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services or your violation of these Terms.

14. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

You may stop using the Services at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and provide notice where reasonably practicable.

Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those changes.
